LED spotlights like our ceiling lights and more are so practical and simply lovely
Our LED spotlights are ready to give you the light you need. That sounds wonderfully cosy, doesn't it? Whether as a bedside lamp or for the sofa, as a ring light or a night light: expect light that's a pleasure to have around, whenever you need it.

How many watts should my LED ceiling light or spotlight have?
Because LEDs are so efficient, what matters isn't the wattage but the light output in lumens. For a cosy reading nook, around 400 to 600 lumens is enough, while an LED desk lamp in a work area can help you concentrate better if it offers 800 to 1,000 lumens. An LED ceiling light for the living room should deliver between 1,500 and 3,000 lumens, depending on the size of the room. As a rule of thumb, 1 watt in a standard LED is equivalent to around 100 to 120 lumens. To work out the light output of your LED ceiling or wall light, divide the lumen value by the wattage. The higher the result, the better.
From ceiling light to table lamp: are all LED spotlights dimmable?
Ceiling light, wall light or desk lamp – not all LED spotlights are dimmable. You can find out whether a particular model has this feature in the product description. A dimmable IKEA LED ceiling light lets you adjust the brightness smoothly, making it ideal for different times of day and different moods. Especially handy: with our smart home lighting, you can even control dimmable lights wirelessly via an app or voice command.
How long will my LED ceiling light last?
An LED ceiling light can reach a lifespan of around 25,000 hours. At an average of around four hours of use per day, that works out at roughly 15 to 20 years. Compared to older light sources, LED ceiling lights last up to 20 times longer. That longevity saves money and cuts down on waste.
Can I replace the LED bulb in my flush ceiling light, wall lamp and the like?
That depends on the type of fitting. With wall or ceiling lights that have integrated LEDs, the light source is fixed – but thanks to their long lifespan, replacement is rarely needed. Lights with a socket, on the other hand, make bulb changes straightforward. So if an LED bulb does eventually give up the ghost, you'll find suitable replacements at your local IKEA store or online.
Why is my table lamp, flush ceiling light or clip-on lamp with LED flickering?
Flickering in an LED ceiling light is usually caused by an incompatible dimmer, a loose cable connection or a faulty driver. First, check whether your dimmer is suitable for LED lights. Also check that all connections are secure. Our LED spotlights are flicker-free when correctly installed. If the problem persists, our customer service team is happy to help.
How do I use LED ceiling lights and spotlights to style a room?
Whether your look is modern, Scandinavian or industrial: with the right IKEA ceiling lights and LED spotlights, you can set just the right atmosphere and make your interior feel even more like home. Round, flat flush ceiling lights with soft light sit especially well with light-coloured chests of drawers, cabinets, wooden tables and natural textiles. Black or metallic ceiling spots and track systems suit modern or industrial interiors and put shelves, artwork or sideboards in the spotlight. The effect is especially cosy when adjustable spotlights bounce their light off a wall or ceiling – giving you warmth rather than a harsh, direct glare. You can complement the look with carefully chosen artwork or a beautiful mirror. Above a kitchen island, several spots on a simple light bar can illuminate individual areas, while in the living room a mix of a dimmable ceiling light and well-aimed LED spotlights creates gentle pools of light.
