Outstanding value for moneyIanThe accuracy of this device has been tested and the internal sensors used have been verified as excellent. I have used many others and this is the best value. It is zigbee compatible so it can be used for smart home automation. When the wildfire smoke gets bad in Calgary, the pm2.5 sensor will detect it indoors and my home automation will automatically run the furnace blower through my furnace filter to clean the air. It works great. Can;t say enough positive about this device.5
Good quality but mediocre precisionMartinI was much disappointed that the unit does not measure fractures of degrees, only whole numbers. It's not even reported over zigbee. Otherwise, it's rather nice with good anesthetics, big display, illumination and air quality.3
OK for what it is; expensiveGregoryDoes the job, but could improve a lot. Doesn't log data (only shows you the current values); perhaps IKEA could add this in the app. I'm happy with it for the price I paid but it's significantly more expensive now. I would like to add one to another room, but for the price, I'm considering other options.3
PM monitorMikaThis wee monitor does the job. However, it would have been 5 stars if it had a battery back up.4
Limited Usefulness BarbaraProvides temperature, humidity and particulate values. Does not provide values for VOCs (just an arrow indicating rising, falling or steady levels). May be ok for someone interested in basic parameters. 2
Works with zigbee2mqtt and Home AssistantStevePurchased to monitor my wood stove. Paired instantly with zigbee2mqtt and all features were picked up in Home Assistant. OTA updates worked perfectly. Much cheaper and better looking than any other Zigbee air quality monitor online.5
Humidity sensor not calibratedAlexanderI got 3 devices and all 3 showing the humidity 10% higher than calibrated hydrometer and all other sensors.1
Unreliable and inconsistent readingsD.The sensor itself displays very different readings than the Ikea Home Smart app it's connected to. The temperature and humidity readings also vary from the thermostat it's sitting next to. It's hard to know which, if any, of the readings are accurate. Making both the sensor, and the app, rather useless.2
Can we trust it?MarcelThe device is well built, looks nice, and responds fast, but:
This is the third sensor in my home that measures Relative Humidity, and the measurements of this are way off.
Cheap sensor shows RH at 40%
Decent sensor shows 44%
IKEA sensor shows 53%
The PM 2.5 too is a bit hard to make sense of. When I first installed it, it was measuring 80+ in every place of my house. 24h later, it now shows 0~1 only.
Even with it sitting in front of an opened window, PM 2.5 displays 5 at max.
I then put it beside my cat litter, lifted and dropped full scoops of litter back into the box, lifting dust: sensor says air quality ir still great at 1.
One more thing to note is, the color code used by IKEA is not compliant with WHO standards.
Temp sensor is good though! Pretty fast.3
Measures PPM, temp, humidity, & VOCLydiaTiny little box does quite a lot, recently moved and has some questions about air quality. This little machine has put me at ease.5
Works great with HomekitMichaelGot it hooked up to home assistant through the HomeKit integration. Works great, only affordable wired sensor.5
Stylish & useful.SophiaStylish & useful.5
A great little sensorAliI love the fact that we can see the ppm in our various rooms when it comes to indoor air quality, particularly in this wildfire smoke-filled time that we live in. This is super helpful!5
