This sensor keeps track of your windows and doors – helping you make life at home smoother and more comfortable.
When connected to a hub, the sensor sends a notification to your smartphone with information if a door or a window is opened.
You can combine the sensor with a smart lightbulb that turns on when you open a door and turns off when you close it – ideal for a walk-in closet.
Easy to place in different areas of the home since the parts can be mounted perpendicular to each other, opposite each other or side by side.

Stopped workingLawrenceThis sensor worked great with our closet door until it didn’t. Maybe it was a firmware upgrade but the placement of the sensor no longer works for detecting the door. The sensor itself still works because when I remove it from the door and test other angles, it still detects the door opening/closing.

My setup: Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini as thread routers. Eero 6 pro for LAN connectivity.
Setting it up and installing it was a breeze. No connectivity issues. No drop outs. I can now integrate this sensor to turn on my hue lights and smart switches when a door is opened.

Decent price for a Matter device.IvanGood-priced Matter device. However, the material does not feel premium and feels quite plastic. Also, it is challenging to open it without a tool.
Well done IKEA!Rachel And JayI’m in an all Apple / Hue household and these work fantastically well for a price that can’t be beat! I own several Hue contact sensors for the doors of our home and tied in to our security system but these are great for any/all other doors. Will be getting more soon!
