Finicky to set up but ultimately workedJeremyI added this directly to my Apple Home with matter support. It took several tries with multiple different iPhones to successful add it; it got stuck at various stages during failed attempts (connecting/setting up/add to home). Once it was added, the buttons were extremely unresponsive and took upwards of 5 seconds to process actions.
After about 24 hours I have no idea why but the buttons started to behave more quickly and predictably. I wish it didn’t take this long or was this hard to set up, but I’m ultimately glad it works as expected.
Terrible ProductAnonymous reviewerI have been a faithful IKEA customer and using their old dimmable remotes that still work great. I got this one and man, I spent 2 hours pairing it with the bulbs or syncing it with the matter app. It just did not connect. I returned the remote and the bulbs. Please bring back old remotes. Thanks!
It worksSigIt works fine but the system is awkward to install, instead of being able to link lights together each unit has a separate cable back to the distribution panel, weird🤷🏻♂️
If dissapointment was a switch, it would be this.DominiqueI had this product for a couple weeks now, I baught one unit and had another one come in the box with another light (the color version of the VARMBLIXT).
The set up was very painful as it took about 2-3 hours to get two simple switch to sync with the IKEA bridge AND, after all that it simply stopped responding after about 2 weeks. There I go again trying to reset the connection but it just dosent work anymore.
As it has been over 90 days I am now stuck with two useless switches.

Dead after a weekMilosUnfortunately, it just died after not one week of use. It completely stopped responding, and changing batteries did nothing. Upon further inspection, the LED does not activate at all, and the device is just a tiny brick. Judging by the other one-star reviews, this is a common occurrence, and IKEA should maybe rethink this one.

BILRESA two button remote is excellentDonThe two button remote is very well priced and performs better than expected. The multifunction (single press, double press & long press) on each button opens up many possibilities. Works very well & quickly with Apple Home. I have and use many of these every day which says a lot. The Apple Home app also works very well with this Remote with added bonus of just 2 AAA cells.
The box/package did not mention the multifunction ability but it was a nice feature to discover. In the bedroom a Single press of ON button turns ALL lights on (room, night tables, small lamp), double press has small lamp only on for reading, long press Dims the small lamp. A single press of the OFF side turns ALL lights off. This took maybe two minutes to set up including the decision of what function to use.

Will not work with HA anymoreArjunI have tried multiple remotes and every one of them stopped responding to HA. It works for few hours and doesnt recover from sleep. The old style zigbee remotes works flawless
Nice form factor but needs some improvementJoshuaWorks well with the Dirigera and Ikea Home Smart. Be sure to press with intent, as the click point happens before the point of registering a press. There's also a rougly 0.5s delay between presses and actions. Currently can not hold a stable link with HomeAssistant.
Worked - stop working - workingDavidI've seen all the bad reviews but decided to try it anyways. I added it to Apple Home without issue and setup a few actions on the buttons. The next day it stopped working... Removed batteries, put them back and it has been working over since - one week now. I'll keep testing. I would really like to try the temp/humid sensor when they get stock back!
Wish I could rate 0 starsKiersyI was so excited to pair this to my Matter Homey Pro hub, but after 3 devices tried, it is just a poor product at this point.
It either gets stuck in the setup process, or gets stuck when trying to add to thread network, or gets added and them can't connect - or, and this was worse, finally got connected qnd working, but woke up next morning and connection lost and refused to re-pair.
I picked up the Styrbar and although it uses Zigbee, at least it works with my Homey Pro and so far no issues.
Until Ikea addresses the issues with Bilresa, I highly recommend not trying to use this for a Matter home, the headache is not worth it (unless you're using the Ikea app which i assume works well)
works great, easy to pairKevinIf you are having issues, its likely not a device issue rather your IPv6 network. Do some research. I had a double NAT issue, when resolved; Thread devices became very reliable.
Double click makes this WORSEOriIKEA needs to release a version of this switch without the double click feature. The problem is that after a single click, it has to wait for the maximum time a double click would be valid to see if the button gets pressed again, before it can decide what kind of click you meant. After that max time it can decide it was a single click. That means the instantaneous light switching with the previous RODRET switch is impossible, there's always a noticeable delay. Lag isn't what anyone expects from a light switch.
Double click has its place, but for most users and applications this isn't the best way to go. Please put out a parallel SKU like you had in the past (RODRET vs SOMRIG) or at least release a firmware update where a power user could specify to never wait for double clicks. Thanks for considering this IKEA!
