Disconnects from hubAnthonyOnce in a while it disconnects from the Dirigera hub. I have 3 and all of them do this. Sometimes it reconnects after a few days, sometimes I need to reset the device and re-add it. Most recently, all 3 went offline at once (other IKEA and non-IKEA devices stayed online). 1 reconnected. The others I had to reset, but I wasn’t able to re-add them. So frustrating.
Also, when it’s working, there aren’t any useful automations in the Home Smart app if a leak occurs.
I really wanted to like this but I really can’t recommend it.2
Don’t buy one. Buy four. Or more.PaulBrilliant little device. Very sensitive sensor. A damp fingertip will set it off, so you’ll almost know there’s a leak before your floor does. Pairs perfectly with Apple Home, provided you have a hub device that supports Matter over Thread (HomePod mini, 2nd-gen HomePod, or the latest Apple TV 4K); just scan the code in the Home app, give it a name and location, and you’re all set. Like the title says, wish I’d bought more than just one; in addition to my water heater, I’d put them under my washing machine, my dishwasher, my kitchen sink…anywhere that could leak. Brilliant device.5
Works great with Apple HomeChrisPurchased one to try it out. Did some testing and it definitely works. Using the Appletv4k as a Matter hub and the Home app everything connected easily. Get the alert on my iPhone quickly and the attached alarm is loud. Great product that I hope I’ll never need to receive alerts from.5
Works seamlessly with Apple HomeRachel And Jay[Jan 2026] Needs a firmware update to correct an incorrect status state being reported when examining its settings in Apple Home App but regardless of that non-issue issue it works great in my all Apple / Hue household. Will be buying about 10 more of these for various locations in our home.4
Excellent valueJarrodWe've been using this for a recently discovered crack in our foundation and it's been brilliant at reporting water ingress so we know when to go and soak up the water. Also gives us comfort that we can leave the house and know what's going on at home. Thanks IKEA!5
False advertisingHaniAdvertised as a smart sensor that can connect to any smart home or hub, turns out it requires buying the Ikea hub. Recognized by Amazon Echo Dot but cannot. Not compatible with Google home app either1
