IKEA Australia exploring new ways to engage with customers with IKEA Live

Barry Du Bois hosting livestream shopping service to help customers design their dream kitchens

This Sunday, 22 January at 6:30pm (AEDT) IKEA is launching IKEA Live, a livestream shopping service to inspire customers on how to become home furnishing experts at home.  

For IKEA, the new initiative is part of an ambition to engage with customers in a new way. Hosted by renovation and design guru Barry Du Bois, the livestream will offer a unique opportunity for Australians to engage with IKEA interior design experts and real people to gain an understanding of how they can re-imagine their own space. The first of the series will focus on how to design an affordable, dream kitchen.  

Through extensive visits and consultations with people who live in Australian homes and the IKEA Life at Home report, IKEA understands the challenges Australians face when it comes to creating a functional space which reflects their personality. Research shows that 83% of Australians experience frustrations when it comes to their home and only 65% feel their home reflects who they are. Through initiatives like IKEA Live, IKEA is exploring more ways to help Australians overcome their frustrations and unleash the potential of their homes.   

Steve Veale, Commercial Activity and Events Leader for IKEA Australia says, “We are always looking for new ways in which we can engage with and inspire our customers. We are so excited to be launching IKEA Live to help Australians re-imagine their space. The livestreams provide a platform for our IKEA design experts to share their knowledge with customers across Australia, while helping us better understand real challenges Australians face at home.”  

In Sunday’s session, with the help of Barry, customers can expect to gain inspiration from affordable range solutions that have helped real Australian families transform their space and feel more positive about their kitchens. During the live, customers can shop items shared in the stream and ask questions via live chat.
