Vision & Business concept

We have a passion for life at home. Our culture was born out of enthusiasm, togetherness and an 'on the go' attitude. We are optimists and constantly looking for new and better ways to do things. From designing a rocking chair that fits in a flat pack, to making LED lamps that are affordable for everyone. Our vision is to create a better everyday life for as many people as possible - for customers, but also for our employees and the people who work for our suppliers.

This vision goes beyond home furnishings. We want our business to have a positive impact on the world - from the communities where we buy our materials, to the way our products help our customers live a more sustainable life at home.

By sharing our vision and standing up for what we believe in, we can be part of a positive change in society.

Business concept

While our vision tells us why we exist, our business concept tells us what we want to achieve. And for everyone who has visited IKEA, the business concept idea is quite obvious - "to offer a wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices that are so low that as many people as possible can afford them".

This means that we have to make products with a beautiful design, good functions, that are sustainable, of good quality and available at a low price. We call it 'Democratic Design' because we believe that good home furnishings is for everyone

Products that appeal to many people also mean large production volumes. This ensures that we can offer products at low prices. Not only that, but when our products are packed and shipped in space-saving packaging, storage and transport costs are reduced and we can lower our prices even further.
