An armchair is a lazy chair. And a chaise longue is an even lazier chair. Its long seat is made specially to kick back and relax. The literal translation from French of 'chaise longue' is 'long chair'. Some chaise longues are part of a corner sofa, but there are also free-standing chaise longues that you can use as a sofa. With a chair bed, you sit up during the day, and fold it out in the evening for a comfortable single bed. Handy if you don't have much space or often have guests.
