Celebrate Swedish Midsommar
Midsummer, or 'Midsommar', is one of Sweden’s most beautiful traditions. Celebrated around the longest day of the year, during the weekend closest to 21 June, it brings together light, nature and togetherness.
Flower crowns, long dining tables, music and good company. Celebrate Midsommar with us throughout June — visit the store and enjoy special offers and fun activities, Swedish-style but close to home.

Set the table for Midsommar
A Swedish celebration is all about enjoying time together at the table. Think boiled potatoes with fresh dill, served with a selection of herring in sour cream with chives and butter. Of course, Swedish meatballs are a must. And don't forget the salmon. Pair it with a refreshing, sweet lemonade. And for dessert: delicious fresh strawberries with a piece of Daim cake. This is Midsommar at its very best.

Småland is waiting – your adventure could be too
On 20 June 2026, visitors in our stores spun the Wheel of Fortune for a chance to win a special trip to Småland in Sweden.
Småland is a region in southern Sweden where IKEA was founded – and you can still feel it today: making something beautiful with what you have. It’s a landscape of forests and lakes, where life moves at a slightly slower pace.
The lucky winners will be notified within two days and will set off on an adventure with a 5-night trip, including one night at the IKEA Hotell in Älmhult. During their stay, they will explore the surrounding nature and enjoy activities such as canoeing, cycling, and taking in the tranquillity of the Swedish countryside.
