What documentation do I need to provide for a VAT refund if I am a traveller customer?

If you are a private customer resident in a non-EU foreign country or resident in Ceuta, Melilla or the Canary Islands, you can apply for a VAT refund on purchases made at IKEA.

For purchases made on or after 05/07/2018, the application does not require a minimum purchase amount. Purchases made before this date must exceed a minimum amount of 90.15 euros to apply for a VAT refund.

The documentation you need to provide is:

Through Global Blue: the electronically stamped DER and the credit card number where you want the refund to be made (they can also reimburse you in cash).
Through IKEA: The electronically stamped DER, a copy of your identification document (passport, residence card...) and the bank account number (SEPA*) where you want the transfer to be made.
* The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is the area in which citizens, companies and other economic agents can make and receive payments in euros in Europe, inside and outside national borders, under the same conditions and with the same rights and obligations, regardless of where they are located.
