In accordance with Law 11/2021 of 9 July on measures to prevent and combat tax fraud, new rules against tax avoidance practices that directly affect the functioning of the internal market are established. From 11 July 2021, it will no longer be possible to make full or partial payments in cash or bearer form (including gift and/or refund cards) for transactions of €1,000 or more.
From that date, all payments equal to or above that amount will have to be made by bank credit/debit card.
