What are IKEA's goals when it comes to plastics in general?

Our aim is that all our products and packaging, including those made from plastic, are based on renewable and/or recycled material by 2030, meaning that no virgin fossil materials will be used.

Plastic is a key material for IKEA, and can be found in many items of the IKEA range. It is a strong, durable, lightweight, inexpensive and versatile material used in home furnishing products and in different applications throughout IKEA operations and supply chain.

We see plastic based on renewable/recycled material as important for fulfilling democratic design, our circular commitments and customer needs. While we will continue to use plastic, we want to reduce the impact of the plastic we use.
