Here’s how our product buyback service works
- You decide which items you want to sell. The buyback service is only for used IKEA furniture that’s fully assembled and hasn’t been modified in any way. You’ll find a list of products that are suitable and not suitable below. If you have a product that we can’t buy back, you could always reuse it, donate it or sell it on another online platform.
- Work out your non-binding buyback guide price. You just need to find the item of IKEA furniture you’re looking to sell and tell us about the condition it’s in. You’ll be given a non-binding guide price, which is the maximum amount IKEA can pay you for your furniture.
- Now you need to get your furniture ready. All furniture must be clean and fully assembled. Take your furniture and your non-binding guide price to the Customer Service team at your nearest IKEA store.
- Our trained staff in store will compare the condition of your furniture with the non-binding guide price and offer you a final buyback price, which may differ from the guide price. Once the calculations are all done, you’ll receive an IKEA voucher. We’ll then go ahead and sell your furniture in our second chance market. If we’re not able to accept your product, we can remove and recycle it for you in an environmentally friendly way.
- Now’s the time to celebrate doing something positive. You’ve helped us to give your used furniture a second life in a new home and you’ve done your bit to reduce waste. Thank you for helping IKEA become a more circular business.
- You can spend your voucher online or in any of our stores. It can be used indefinitely from the date of issue, but is not valid in our Swedish bistros, Swedish restaurants or in the Swedish Food Market (IKEA Food). Why not use your voucher to buy yourself something new to you from the second chance market?
Accepted products
IKEA has been selling furniture in Switzerland for a long time. Some older IKEA products might not even appear in our tool. But that’s not a problem! If your furniture is included in the following list of furniture that IKEA buys back and it meets the criteria, we’ll be happy to buy it back from you and find it a new home. Just take your furniture to the Customer Service desk at your local IKEA store and the staff there will be happy to calculate the price.
