Classic bookshelfSarahInexpensive but solid construction. I have a BILLY bookshelf that I bought years ago that has never sagged and it matches the new one I got almost exactly! The only difference is the updated brackets that support the shelves, but the new ones are nearly invisible!

A lot of quality issues and the edges as well as the sides of the bookshelf is very bumpy and not well finished. The faux wood of all the pieces feel more hallow as well. Just got these delivered yesterday and unloaded all the pieces up 3 flight of stairs before noticing. Honestly very disappointed and I hope they bring back the old Billy bookshelves
As mentioned by other piece the backpiece comes with predrilled holes now - some of my wooden pieces came with not fully drilled holes and a lot of misaligned too. They dropped the ball on this one and it sucks. I really hope they bring back the old one. Also there is a lot of blotchy spotting on a lot of the wooden pieces. Just overall terrible quality and can be seen close and far away. I will now have to waste my day and return these pieces on my own accord.

Lots of quality for the priceKellyI like the sturdiness of the Billy bookcase. I first started out by finding a small version of a bookcase in a thrift store. It wasn’t until I removed the shelves that I saw ikea stamped on the wood. It was the quality of the bookcase that caught my eye in the thrift store. After doing some research I learned that it was called the Billy bookcase. It is one if not THE sturdiest bookcase I’ve built in a long time. If I needed another bookcase, it would definitely be another Billy purchased.
Billy is a slouchJeffreyThis book case can barely support its own weight let alone one’s possessions anyone would expect from such a large product. The pewter anchor brackets bend under reasonable loading of knock knacks and other document’s. It’s flat out dangerous to load anything on this shelving systems. Save your valuables and sanity, we miss the Billie shelving System recently discontinued.

Nice! But I had issuesJosephThese are really nice, heavy duty for sure, however the holes for the shelves at one point were not lined up side to side on the same side of the case so I had to drill my own hole to make it work, I bought 2 cases and each had the same issue. I have photos to show.

Nice set for office roomVijayGreat for holding books and stuffs. Came with few missing hardware. IKEA hardware order came in handy and fixed it in couple weeks time.
It's worth the money.MaribelIf they're surprisingly really sturdy. You got to pay attention when you're assembling it and can be a little bit tricky but it's pretty fast. It's faster if you have help obviously, but even doing it as a solo mission it's pretty fast can get done and under an hour. The only complaint I do have is that the doors don't close completely together to where they can both touch there's a tiny space between them, but still good & satisfied w my purchase.

Mostly goodPatriciaThe "Oak Effect" color is much lighter than it showed on my computer, but hej, once it's in use you don't care as much as when you first see it come out of the box. All parts stayed undamaged during assembly, unlike some pieces I bought during late pandemic time. I've bought a number of Billys over the years, and probably will again. Good luck. See the color in person, if you can. I could not.
Survived multiple movesJamesWe bought our first Billy bookcase in January 2018. We have since relocated three times, including twice across state lines, and we have had exactly zero issues with this. It still looks great and performs well. After seven years, we were in need of an additional cabinet so we adde3d the half doors to our Billy. Very easy to make this modification and the cabinet looks great. We are so happy with it at that we bought two more full size Billy cabinets with the full doors and the narrow Billy and made the corner unit like was shown in the store. Highly recommend this product!

Less than I expected but still pretty good PetrosThese are basically nice bookcases for the price. It’s a fair deal not a great deal. The white ones that I got the finish on the shelves is so thin that if you drop something not that hard it will nick to finish. The other thing is some parts have been now changed to plastic that used to be metal. I suppose it won’t make a tremendous difference. And the backing board is a trifold which you can see, but I understand it had to be foldable to ship. And finally, they don’t include the long wall screws that you need in order to stabilize the shelf, which is a problem because if you for instance, put it up and then find out like I did that there’s no long screws to go into the wall to secure it now you’ve got a shelf which is unsecured and if you had some kids running around, you’d have to take them with you to buy some screws because the shelf could easily tip over so it seems they should at least give you a couple of 2 inch drywall screws.
Amazing bookshelf ZoeThese are so sturdy and beautiful and easy to assemble. We have one in each room of the house and hope to have more in the future!
BookcaseMarissaDefinitely my favorite bookcase I’ve owned. They are very sturdy and easy to put together. I love that the shelving is fairly adjustable minus the center shelf which provides additional support. I have 2 of these bookcases and they are both full of books and I definitely plan on buying more in the future.
