Types of tables for your home

Shop tables in sizes and styles to furnish every room in your home, from coffee tables to computer desks, and nightstands to dining sets. A table is a versatile piece of furniture, often multitasking as a dining, working, studying, gaming and living area. As such, it needs to fit your space and needs perfectly. That’s why we have a wide range of tables in different shapes, colors and materials to make sure you find what you’re looking for.

How to choose a table

Getting a table is not just about choosing what looks good. Make sure to think about the design and shape of the table as well. Different designs have different features, so take some time to consider which type suits you best.

Round vs. rectangular tables

Round tables often require more space than rectangular tables. If it’s a dining or kitchen table, you’ll also need more space to be able to pull the chairs out properly. However, round tables do give a softer impression thanks to their smooth shape.

Rectangular or square tables give a sharper impression but they are often easier to adapt to the room. The shape works with most interiors, no matter the theme. Rectangular tables commonly take up less space than a round designs, and are easier to place in corners or difficult layouts.

Choosing table legs

Don’t just think about the table shape; make sure to consider the height and design of the legs as well. For example, you might want a slightly higher coffee table if the family often eats in front of the TV. That way, you don’t have to bend over too much when it’s pizza time. Also, consider the shape of the legs. Slanted legs can look great but you also run a greater risk of hitting your toes as it’s easy to forget they protrude more than straight legs.

Then there are the wall-mounted tables, best used in the kitchen or dining room. They save space, don’t take up any floor space, and can provide an airy feel in an otherwise cramped room. Plus, they're really easy to clean underneath.

Get yourself a table that stands out...

Feel free to let your table shine and stand out in the living room, dining room, or kitchen. It’s a natural showstopper and can really lift a room. Try to work with contrasts when it comes to color and shape. That is, if you have a lot of furniture that is angular in shape, try adding a round or oval table.

...or a table that blends in

If contrasting colors and different materials aren’t your thing, you can also try the monochrome style. Match tables and other furniture in the same or a similar shade. For example, a beige rug, white sofa, birch coffee table, light grey TV bench and a white lamp coordinate beautifully. As long as the materials differ, the look can still work its magic.

No matter what type of table you’re looking for, we’re sure you’ll find something to suit your taste here. Visit one of our stores if you want to take in the different options in person or order your table online for convenience.
