Defective parts causes wobbly tableJohn R.My wife and I were assembling the table fine until we got to steps 7 & 8. The concavity of the piece that is supposed to allow you to screw the washer and nut onto the main pole was not formed correctly. It thus caused the table to wobble. We are returning it tomorrow to Elizabeth NJ to either get a new one, or buy another small table, or get a full refund. The 4 white chairs that were part of the set are fine, but we are wondering now whether they will go with a new table. I am very disappointed in IKEA .
This table is just whatLINNEAThis table is just what I wanted. In the store, the top was on a different base, but the staff member found what I needed online.
15 years of constant usePatsy M.I'm now selling this table after using it for 15 years. It has been solid, not wobbly, useful and good looking. I don't remember if I put it together or had Ikea do that. I highly recommend it. The top got a few small pinprick spots where the laminate came off, but still looks great.
Childhood Dream FulfilledMERRIE D.My neighbor had THE original butterfly table & I thought it was the prettiest thing I'd ever seen. So when I needed a puzzle table for my space, I realized Ikea had a solution in the Docksta.
The table top box is huge & awkward but one person can heft it. It'll fit on the bottom shelf of a cart but would fit easier on the flat cart. The bottom is HEAVY. One person with muscles can lift it but if you have two, you'll have an easier time of it & less bruising. The tabletop in its protective cardboard fit easily on the back deck of my Scion xB but do be sure to measure your vehicle space.
Assembly was fairly easy, do use the suggested crescent wrench on the center spindle otherwise you will get wobble & have to disassemble. We chose to put the top on upside down on the protective cardboard so we had better torque & line of sight. If you do this, it may take two to lift it upright safely. There is a bit of flex if you try & the black top shows oily fingerprints. I just ♥️ this table.

Great TableLAURAWe have wanted this table for awhile but it was always out of stock. We tried a couple other tables from other stores and we ended up returning them due to their poor quality. We got lucky and this table FINALLY became available at our closest store and it great! Great quality, easy to assemble and cheaper then the others.
Great TableHubert L.I am very happy with the table! It's very sturdy and looks great. I have been reading the reviews before I bought it, and saw that people write it's wobbling, but that's not true! Just follow instructions in putting it together, it's very easy unless someone is not good with tools and being handy. Tip: I used my own tools and would suggest using a wrench instead of pliers as shown in the leaflet. And 17 mm socket is needed. Hopefully this is helpful to other people.

Crushing on this lil tulipAly W.Tighten that nut until it almost doesn’t turn anymore, and the top will be solid and doesn’t wobble. The tiniest hardly noticeable flex is normal if you lean on it. But if it is wobbly, take the top off and tighten more.
I love it.
I love this table for how it looks in my modern apartment. Something round in the room helps soften things or contrast the squareness. I think the price reflects the collectible nature of this style / silhouette, in that it’s a copy of a designer table that cost $3k.

don't let the reviews scare youHannah J.trust me on this - the reviews might bring you doubt but this table is great and easy to put together! here's the thing - i did have an issue with it being very wobbly when i first put it on. however, i took the table top off, and REALLY made sure that the nut that goes on the middle part of the leg was on there tight. i am a female with no upper body strength whose dad does everything for her (except this!). i just put all of my body weight into pulling the wrench around so that there was no wobble. lo behold, my table is sturdy as can be now.
