Extendable beds

Children grow so fast. That's why we've developed extendable beds that can keep up with every growth spurt.

Why a extendable bed?

An extendable bed fits your child's height perfectly. Once the little one has grown out of the crib, the step to an adult bed is too big for many children. And a toddler bed will only fit your child temporarily. The solution is an extendable bed. The adjustable frame allows the bed to grow with your child.

Difference between extendable bed and toddler bed

An extendable bed has a pull-out frame and a mattress in 3 parts. This allows you to adjust the bed to the height of your child. With a toddler bed, the length is fixed, the bed is not adjustable. This makes a toddler bed a temporary bed, while an extendable bed can last for years.

Extentable bed stages

The IKEA extenable beds have 3 stages. At it's smallest, the mattress is 130 long long. The next step is to extend it to 165 cm long. And finally you can extend it to 200 cm long. Each time you make the bed longer, you pull out the frame and add a piece of mattress. The largest mattress is 130 cm, the other 2 parts are each 35 cm.
