Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.
Tea for one, two or more. This teapot is handy when drinking tea on your own or with friends. Just boil some water and put your favourite tea leaves in the integrated infuser. Teatime? Always!

The quality collapses and the price sky rocketsAnonymous reviewerI have been buying this teapot for the last 7 years, but unfortunately the quality of the filter from the last purchase is terribly bad! The filter now has the plastic casing on top instead of metal. The little handle is missing. There is no way of removing the filter form the hot teapot without burning yourself!
There filter is not secured at the bottom (the metal ring is also missing). It looks cheap and will probably not last long. I still have the old filter, so I am using it instead of a newly purchased.
I gave a teapot as a gift to my friend in summer, and I could not understand his remarks about the poor quality of the product. I only understood them recently, when I broke my old teapot and purchased a new one.
It is a shame, IKEA gives up on the quality of one of the flag products. What a disappointment!
