A modern futuristic interior designed by an architect

"This room really shows my style. As an architect, my designs can be very creative, but they must also be very functional: a nice space for living, working and playing.

A movement within design that inspires me is futurism. Coming from cubism, it embraces the dynamics of modern society and glorifies noise, movement & speed. In this living room you see futuristic motifs, such as rockets and space travel (space age design). You can see this, for example, in the lamps, and the shape of the orange chair.

This living room is modern minimalistic. The materials are simple, but still interesting because of their reflective or colorful surfaces. Straight lines and long streaks of light suggest speed and movement.

What also makes me happy is a tidy house. I prefer to keep my designs, models and art books out of sight. I don't like average, so in this unique room with lots of storage space I feel completely at home."
