Reviews

NordliVerified ReviewerThe bed is good, good storage looks nice the only one thing which should be looked into is the grips for the mattress. The mattress does not exactly sit in place when one turns in the bed.4
Looks great, good storageVerified ReviewerLooks great, good storage5

Good sturdy little bedVerified ReviewerGood sturdy little bed with useful storage5
Once you get it together, it’s great!Verified ReviewerYou need a degree in engineering to put this one together! Enlist a friend and be prepared to undo and redo a few steps.. once together it’s a good sturdy bed. Order some extra strips to stick the mattress to the base if needed, they’re free and invaluable.4
Verified ReviewerAs I came to put the white side rail on I put the four plastic rawl plugs in but there was only three holes drilled into the frame. I had to drill the missing hole myself. Not good.3
Excellent bedVerified ReviewerWe bought 2 of these beds for our 2 teenagers- they are so sturdy & the draws are brill for storage. Brill price as well5
The Wright storageVerified ReviewerExcellent storage it was good for my spare the measurements was on spot5
Difficult to find the right size mattressVerified Reviewer1. Issues with Assembly: The assembly was not that straight forward. I rang assembly team to seek help, and they could not do much, as basically, they had an access to the same manual that I had, and could not give further advice. However, after spending 4 hours. I manged to assemble it on my own, using YOUTUBE mostly 2. Very difficult to find the right size mattress. This bed needs a EUROPEAN size mattress ( 200 cm * 95 (95) cm), which is a size that cannot be found easily anywhere, as the standard UK size is 190*90 cm. IKEA sells two types of mattresses in that size, and they are very uncomfy. I have assembled the bed 2 months ago, but could not find the right mattress so far. 3. It does not come with an overhead board, which is slightly awkward. Good points: It seems to be more durable than the cheaper versions at IKEA. It has 3 draws, which helps if the room is a small one.2
Brilliant bedVerified ReviewerBought this for 9yo daughter..is a great bed overall although had to buy the headboard as a separate piece (and it was quite expensive) The only complaint or criticism would b that there is quite a bit of 'wasted' space under the bed as the drawers don't go all the way across..but a great bed overall.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.

Function solution

Bed and storage in the same space

Living in a small space often requires smart storage solutions. It’s all about taking advantage of every square inch. That’s why it can be smart to choose a bed with room for both you and your things. Quite simply - a bed with storage. Then the space under your bed turns into a practical place for storing everything from bedlinen and duvets to clothes, books, and toys.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

“When I designed the NORDLI bedroom series I was inspired by modern Scandinavian design and smart functions. It all started with just a bed and bedside table, then grew into a complete series. Each piece works great alone or combined with others. They all have their own special features with focus on functionality and quality. The modular chests come in different shapes and sizes that you can combine freely to suit your space. Some pieces are also great in other rooms too, like the living room, hall – even in a small business.”
