And why not? Careers, reimagined.

We don't care where you come from, we care about where you want to go. That's why at IKEA we don't recruit CVs, we recruit people and potential.

Having gaps in your CV and getting the same opportunities.

At IKEA, we believe in people, in you and your uniqueness. Our recruiters take the time to look at your application personally. Treating each other with respect is the basis for good, respectful cooperation and a friendly working environment. At IKEA, we recruit based on values. What exactly does that mean? Our recruiters will be happy to tell you more.

Finding a new job within the same company.

Having long-term career prospects is one of the main reasons why a third of all employees have been with IKEA for more than 10 years. In fact, 90% of all management positions are filled internally. But a new approach to careers doesn't just mean taking on management roles – you can also specialise in a particular area of work, move to a different department or even to another country. The opportunities at IKEA are as individual as your talent. Development is strongly encouraged by managers; 85% of employees feel supported by their managers in their personal development. IKEA employees tell you how individual the career paths at IKEA are.

IKEA employees share their personal stories

Working part-time and getting promoted.

Your personal needs should not limit what you can achieve professionally. Over half of all IKEA co-workers work part-time, even in management positions. There is a balanced gender distribution of 50/50 among managers, and we are constantly working to ensure that this remains the case in all functions and areas of work.

How is leadership practised at IKEA? Co-workers and managers share their thoughts on this.

And best of all, you are not alone. The training courses create a strong community in which you support each other and develop together.

Various coaching offers, internal certified coaches or online coaching with Sharpist support co-workers in their next career step or daily management tasks by helping them arrive at situational solutions through questions posed by the coach.
