There are currently 116 apprentices trained professionally and personally by 37 vocational trainers and over 100 mentors at IKEA Switzerland. The relationship with the professional trainer along the apprenticeship is one of the most important factors why people choose a vocational company.

Some of the apprentices are taking their next step after finishing their training programmes by being a vocational trainer or a team leader themselves. 75% of the apprentices have taken over a new role at IKEA Switzerland after they finished their vocational training programme last summer.

It is never too late to learn something new or to change your career path.   An adult education aims to deepen theoretical knowledge in a work area where practical experience has already been accumulated over several years. This is a valuable opportunity for people with job experience who want to pursue professional training as a part of their daily work. The goal of an adult education is to close the gap in theoretical knowledge, providing the opportunity not only to stay competitive on the job market but also to continue growing based on the acquired knowledge. The requirement for an adult education is up to 5 years of work experience, depending on the specific work area.
