Hanging pictures like the professionals

No matter where in your home you want to hang pictures and how you want to arrange them, it's easy to design your picture wall exactly the way you want it. Follow these simple steps and you'll be able to create even the most elaborate art wall perfectly straight – without making lots of holes in the wall.

What you need

  • Picture frame
  • Roll of paper
  • Pencil, scissors and tape
  • Ruler or tape measure
  • Hooks or nails for hanging

Scattered items can be seen on a dark wooden surface, including SVÄRDFISK scissors, a SUSIG cork desk pad, a roll of paper and RÖDALM frames.

preliminary sketch

Trace your frames onto the paper and cut out a template for each frame. Measure the distance between the top edge of the frame and the hook or hanging cord on the back. Then take the same measurement on the paper and mark the spot with a pencil.

Determine the layout

Next, you need to find an arrangement that you like. If you want, you can try out different arrangements on the floor first, as it is easier to move the individual elements around there. Once you have found a good arrangement and attached the templates to the wall, attach hooks or nails to the marked spots.

From design to frame

Once the hooks or nails are in place, carefully remove all the paper templates so that the adhesive tape does not leave any marks. And now comes the best part: hanging the pictures. If you want, you can use a spirit level to align everything precisely.

Premiere for your picture wall

Voilà! Your room has a new focal point! And since you can easily swap out the motifs in the frames, you can update and change the look of your wall again and again. How do you like this personal art gallery?
