Homemade granola

Winter tastes even better when breakfast is homemade! We're sharing a simple recipe for DIY granola – perfect for a cosy breakfast or as a gift.

A woman's hand stirs a mixture of nuts and spices in a white bowl on a wooden board. Cinnamon sticks lie next to it on a dark worktop.

Ingredients

  • 170g oat flakes
  • 130g nuts
  • 50g coconut oil
  • 120g honey
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Here's how to do it:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius on top and bottom heat.
  2. Roughly chop the nuts. If necessary, briefly heat the coconut oil in the microwave until it is liquid. Mix all ingredients well.
  3. Place baking paper on an oven rack and spread the granola mixture as thinly as possible on top. Bake for 15 minutes, then turn lightly with a spatula or spoon and roast for another 10 minutes so that it is browned on all sides.
  4. Then remove the granola from the oven and leave to cool.

Note: The granola will only harden and be able to be broken into thick pieces once it has cooled completely. So don't touch it before then!
