The ideal desk for children

With a desk for children, it is particularly important to have the right surface area and height. A height-adjustable desk helps perfectly with the ideal sitting posture. An added benefit is that many of our desks for students can be converted into standing desks. Standing up while learning protects the back and boosts concentration. As for the surface area, there should be enough room on the desk for a DIN A3 document and to maintain a distance of at least 50 cm from the screen (if working with a computer). A blessing for smaller rooms is space-saving children's furniture. A shining example of this is the PÅHL desk with add-on unit for storage or the MICKE desk, which you can easily adapt to the space available.

The perfect office chair for children

Whether it is the VIMUND desk chair for children or the ÖRFJÄLL desk chair, our office chairs for children are designed to make learning easier. The right children's chair has two qualities in particular: It is robust, high-quality and lots of fun. And it enables the right sitting posture that protects the back: The upper and lower arms are at a 90° angle when resting on the desk, the shoulders are relaxed, the upper body is straight, the thighs and lower legs also form (at least) a 90° angle and the feet are flat on the floor. If you opt for a swivel chair, your child can also reach everything he or she needs to learn from the same position. And if the children's chair also has a backrest made of breathable material, this increases the sitting comfort enormously.

The ideal desk lighting

Practical back-to-school desk accessories

You usually need more than a desk, a chair and a few lamps. What is missing now are the desk accessories that will support your child perfectly in his or her everyday school life. The MÖJLIGHET headset & tablet stand is mainly aimed at older children who are already capable of handling and learning with exciting technology. A notice board is ideal for all age groups – whether for paintings or for important revision notes. The SKADIS pegboard even goes one step further and offers individual storage solutions for all kinds of odds and ends. And the TJENA desk organiser is ideal for a tidy and practical desktop where everything has its place.

Storage for school utensils

The last part of our guide deals with the ever-so-important issue of storage in children's rooms. Often the difference between a chaotic and an organised children's room comes down to the question of how you can give your children the means to stow away their toys, school things and craft accessories. This is where our drawer units on castors, wall shelves, storage boxes, bookshelves, hanging storage solutions, MÖJLIGHET textile bed pockets and so on come into play. These provide the room with storage options in a design that suits children, which is clever and systematic and therefore fun. And if you are after storage solutions outside the room, we also have something for you: Take a look at our backpacks and messenger bags – exciting alternatives to the traditional school bag.
