How deep, high and wide should my TV bench be?

Your TV bench should be at least as wide as your TV – ideally 10 to 20 cm wider. That creates a balanced look. For a 55-inch TV with a width of around 125 cm, for example, we recommend a TV lowboard that is roughly 140 to 160 cm wide. Don’t forget the depth of the TV bench either – depending on your TV, 40 to 50 cm is usually ideal so that speakers and other accessories have enough room.

How high should a wall-mounted TV lowboard be?

Planning to mount your TV lowboard on the wall? These guidelines can help. If your TV stands directly on the lowboard, mount the furniture around 30 to 40 cm above the floor. If your TV is mounted directly on the wall, you can place the floating lowboard around 20 to 30 cm below the bottom edge of the screen. This creates a harmonious whole and keeps remote controls and devices within easy reach. When mounting your TV, we generally recommend positioning the centre of the screen at about eye level when you’re seated.

How much space should I leave between my TV and the TV bench?

As a rule of thumb, leave at least 5 to 10 cm of space between your TV and the TV bench or lowboard. This gap allows for good air circulation, helps prevent your device from overheating and leaves enough room for cables. If you like a more modern, Scandinavian aesthetic, you can increase the distance slightly. It will make the whole setup feel lighter and more airy.

Which TV bench suits which interior style?

If you love Scandinavian design, a white TV lowboard or a TV bench in a light wood tone could be the right choice for you.
