Christmas recipe: Homemade granola to give as a gift

We can all agree that crunchy homemade muesli tastes great and is also a nice idea for a more personal Christmas gift. Children also have a lot of fun making the muesli and decorating it. The preparation is easy and quick, so it's also a perfect last minute gift.

Ingredients 

 

  • 2 cups small oatmeal
  • 1 cup spelt flakes1 cup puffed quinoa
  • 1 cup chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts
  • 1/2 cup almonds
  • 1/2 cup cocoa butter
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp sea salt (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon or other spices as desired

 

  • 1 cup dried fruit (cranberries and/or raisins)

Step 1

Place all ingredients except the dried fruit in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2

Line a baking tray with baking paper and spread the mixture evenly on it. Lightly press the mixture onto the tray for delicious crunchy lumps.

Step 3

Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for about 10 minutes until it smells slightly nutty and the cocoa butter has melted. Leave to cool, do not stir again.

Step 4

Carefully break apart the cooled mass. Mix together with the cranberries and/or raisins and fill into airtight jars.

Step 5

Decorate the jar with a pretty gift ribbon and a personal message
