Gift Idea: DIY Dandelion Wish Jar
Can dandelions fulfil wishes? We firmly believe so! @forkandflower shows you how to use these magical flowers to quickly and easily create a decorative DIY gift that comes from the heart.
What you need:
- Dandelions
- Baking tray or chopping board
- Tin or jar with lid
- Fairy lights
- Labels and ribbons are optional (but add a nice touch)
Step 1
Collect a few dandelion flowers on your next walk. Make sure that they have already bloomed. Remove the stem of the flowers. The previously yellow flowers will wither and become buds.
Step 2
Lay the buds out on a baking tray or chopping board to dry. The buds will open overnight or within the next two days and turn into dandelion puffs. Alternatively, you can also pick dandelions and let them dry for about a week.
Step 3
Pour the dandelions very carefully into a jar. If you want, you can also add a string of lights or decorate the jar with a personal label and pretty ribbons.
Step 4
Cover it with a lid - and your wish jar is ready.
