DIY Lightbox: Gift idea

We all know that one friend that loves quotes, right? Then this is the perfect present! You can personalize it with a message, a favorite quote, a profound saying or something that will make the giftee laugh. And it's easy to DIY.

We`ll show you how.

What you need: 

• SANNAHED picture frame
• Battery-operated LED light chain e.g. VISVASS
• Suitable batteries e.g. LADDA
• Transparent paper
• Aluminum foil
• Brushpens and fineliners of your choice
• Clear tape or hot glue gun
• Possibly fabric gloves

Step 1

Carefully take the picture frame apart so that you have all your individual parts in front of you. Cut out a square the size of the frame from the transparent paper. Use the cardboard on the back of the picture frame as a template.

Step 2

Write or draw what you want to put in the Lightbox - a nice word, a saying or a picture - on the transparent paper with the pens. Be careful - the pens smudge easily, so take your time! Alternatively, you can cut out the motif from a black cardboard box and stick it onto the transparent paper. Use the tape or glue to attach the tracing paper to the glass plate of the frame. Caution: Stick it on with the labelled side facing down.

Step 3

Then cut a square the size of the frame out of the aluminium foil, too, which is then glued together with the backing cardboard.

Step 4

Now, finally, the fairy lights come into play: drape them on the aluminium foil and attach them with the clear adhesive tape. Now the lightbox just needs to be assembled. First put the glass plate with transparent paper into the frame, then the cardboard box with the fairy lights on top. Then you lead the cable out through a hole in one corner. Connect it, switch it on and you're done!
