DIY gift idea: Christmas syrup

How about a homemade Christmas syrup this year? With this delicious and child-friendly recipe, you can give your festive drink a delicious twist and it makes the perfect gift when filled in decorative KORKEN bottles. Cheers to a merry Christmas party!

Recipe

Ingredients:   

  • 800 ml orange juice (direct juice, organic)
  • 1 litre apple juice (naturally cloudy, organic)
  • 400 g raw cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoons punch spice

Preparation:  

  1. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan, bring to the boil and simmer over a low heat for 20 minutes.

  2. As a gift: Rinse the KORKEN bottles with boiling hot water. Pour the syrup through the KORKEN funnel strainer directly into the rinsed bottles and seal them tightly immediately.  

  3. Enjoy immediately: Pour a dash of syrup with sparkling wine or white wine and mineral water and decorate the glass with a slice of orange. In combination with white wine warmed over a low heat, it simply becomes mulled wine. The syrup is also delicious for children when mixed with water or fruit tea.

  4. Store the opened syrup in the fridge and consume it within the next 1-2 months.
