DIY: Dip-Dye Candles
Homemade gifts are twice as enjoyable and come from the heart. So why not try something new this year and bring joy to your beloved ones with a gift that will definitely not dust in the cellar? Scarlett from @Fork & Flower shows you how to easily create trending and colourful dip-dye candles using only a few utensils.
And what’s more, once you get the hang of it (or rather the "dipping"), it's really easy!
You'll need:
- Stick candles: JUBLA
- Candle wax granulate (e.g. soy wax, but regular kerosene wax works better)
- Glass jars, tins or other heat-resistant containers
- Wax colour MALA
- Wooden sticks for stirring
- Paper/ newspaper
Here's how:
- Fill the jars or tins with wax granules.
- Melt in oven or a water bath (recommended)
- Colour as desired with wax colour and stir.
- Dip the candles first from one side into the desired colour.
- Let them drip off.
- For the drying and hardening, place the other side of the candle in a glass so that the coloured tip sticks out at the top and can harden well.
- Then dip the other side. You can make different layers and create patterns and colour combinations.
… and ta- da: this unique Christmas gift is ready!
