Five beds inspired by sleeping styles
Everyone has their favourite positions – and needs – when sleeping. We selected a few common styles and playfully let them inspire one bedroom each.
The Coconer: Sheltering layers of softness
Often found in something resembling foetal position, the Cocooner thrives on feeling secure and sheltered. A draping canopy, combined with thick textiles in the bed and on the floor, offer the right level of comforting cosiness.
The Robot: Waking up to a well-planned day
The Robot is characterised by a sense of preparedness. With a personality favouring symmetry and strictness, this is also reflected in the room’s style. A swift, efficient start to the day is nearly automatic.
The Log: A comfort seeker with a practical side
Sleeping on the side, the Log doesn’t require a lot of room. A sofa-bed works well – especially with a soft backrest to lean into. Yet there’s no reason to sacrifice comfort for space. Go heavy on duvets and textiles to create a cosy bedroom feeling.
The Starfish: Spread across your bed
With a loose and carefree movement pattern, the Starfish requires plenty of room. A generous bed is a must, and an airy feel helps. Double quilts and maximum light exposure, and needs will be met in full.
The Pillowhugger: Comfort you can hold on to
As the name implies, the Pillow hugger favours the cuddly, snuggly side of sleeping. This stomach-down style calls for loads of pillows, cushions and throws to tailor the right sleeping surface. In other words, pile the pastel textiles high.
