Candle DIY for a Christmassy dinner table

The festive season is here! And so is the season of Christmassy table settings. @thelittleblogpic shows you how you can create a unique table setting with home-made candles, which you can easy replicate at home. They also make the perfect hostess gift! Happy crafting!

You need:

  • A visual print of your liking (should be easy to print)
  • A sheet of A4 paper (110 – 120 g/m²)
  • White tissue paper
  • Assortment of white block candles in different sizes
  • Masking tape or scotch tape
  • A hair dryer
  • A pair of scissors

Step 1

Cut your tissue paper a little smaller than your A4 sheet.

Step 5

Attach your tissue paper design to the candle.

Step 6 (get your hair dryer ready!)

The next part is important: you need to attach your label to the candle and "melt" the paper into the wax. Slowly move the hair dryer over the design, which will melt the surface part of the candle and allow the paper to become embedded in it. This should take rather quickly, so watch out for your fingers and be careful not to burn yourself. You don't want to add too much heat or the wax will run. Repeat that step several times.

Step 7

Let it cool down for a bit and afterwards - voilà - your new centrepiece is ready to be admired by your guests!
