Understanding solar systems
1. Collect and convert
Solar modules collect sunlight and use it to produce direct current. The inverter monitors the solar system and converts the direct current into alternating current.
2. Consume or store
If the electricity is consumed directly, for example for lighting, this is called self-consumption. A solar storage unit allows the electricity produced during the day to be stored and consumed in the evening. This increases self-consumption.
3. Share and profit
Surplus electricity can be fed into the grid, for which you are compensated by the electricity company.
