Services for families
Convenience guaranteed
We do everything we can to make your IKEA shopping experience easier when you have little ones in tow – from our extra-large parking spaces to our pram-friendly store layout.
Time for fun and adventure
Bigger children can have fun with other kids their age while you shop – we’ve set up small activity zones for them around the store and offer supervised play in our Småland play area.
Peaceful baby nursing facilities
We provide a private room where you can relax and breastfeed your baby in peace.
Stress-free family dining
Do you need a jar of baby food for your child? By purchasing a warm dish in the Swedish Restaurant we are happy to offer it to you. You can also buy it separately. And you’ll find everything else you need there too – there’s no shortage of high chairs, bibs, children’s cutlery or microwaves.
Family-friendly showrooms
You can look forward to exploring our exciting examples of fully furnished spaces together, safe in the knowledge that we have baby changing facilities and free nappies (on request) at the store entrance, restaurant and children’s toilets. What's more, we regularly offer fun activities and events to entertain the whole family.
Småland play area
All children aged 3 to 7 are welcome at our supervised Småland play area. The kids can play and have fun while you shop in peace.
At Småland, children can benefit from a variety of playful activities to develop their creativity, or simply relax and eventually watching a suitable TV program.
Look out for the play area located near the entrance of all our IKEA stores.
You can sign your child in at the digital registration station. Please note: You’ll need your smartphone, valid ID (you must be over the age of 18) and proof of your child’s age.

Good to know:
- Access to Småland is limited. IKEA co-workers supervise the admission and departure of children into Småland. They will actively monitor and interact with the children during their stay, ensuring the children abide by the conduct rules and enjoy a fun and safe experience.
- For the safety of the child, only the person- older than 18 years old- who signs in the child, can sign out the child.
- Småland is a service reserved For IKEA customers.
- The parent or guardian accompanying the child must stay in the store for the duration of the child's stay in Småland.
- IKEA is not responsible for personal injury or property damage. Parents or guardians allowing their children to enter Småland, do so at their own risk.
- The child must be clean (no diaper). Please take the child to the bathroom before entering into Småland.
- Children must be between 3 and 7 years old to be admitted to Småland.
- Children must wear socks in the play area.
- Children must leave their shoes or boots and coats at the check in counter.
- The length of stay is limited - parents or adults will be notified at the time of admission.
Dining with children at IKEA
At our Swedish restaurant, you can expect to find play areas, high chairs, brilliant children’s meals at affordable prices, bibs, children’s cutlery and microwaves for heating up baby food and milk.
If you visit us with your baby, we also offer a free jar of delicious baby food with every hot meal you buy in the Swedish Restaurant.
