VIDGA curtain rails and curtain rail system

VIDGA rail system

Our practical VIDGA curtain rails offer new solutions for hanging your curtains, drapes or sliding panels. Whether on the wall or on the ceiling, straight or around a corner – VIGDA is easy to assemble in any space. Below is a step-by-step guide to planning, selecting, mounting, and adjusting VIDGA curtain rails.

Mounting curtain rails: Start by measuring your window

First, measure the width of your window. The width determines how long the curtain rod or curtain rail should be.

Curtain: Add at least 15 cm on each side to ensure that the curtains completely cover the window.

Sliding panels: We recommend adding at least 60 cm on each side to ensure that the sliding panels completely cover the window and can be opened up to the window frame.

Now measure the height of your window. The height determines how long the curtains should be.
Start from the top of the window frame and let the curtains hang down as far as possible.
Pay attention to the material the curtains are made of as they can shrink during washing.
Add an additional 15 cm as the VIDGA curtain rail must be mounted 15 cm above the window frame.

The perfect solution for curtain rails

1. First, select how you want to mount the curtain rails

Short wall brackets (6 cm) are close to the wall and optimally darken the room. Single-track curtain rails are ideal for this option.

Do you have a windowsill or an edge? Long wall brackets (12 cm) ensure that the curtains or drapes do not cover any plants. This bracket allows for curtains to be hung next to each other on two different rails.

Hanging the curtains above the window creates a feeling of a higher ceiling. You can also use the ceiling mount to create a seamless room divider using curtains.

2. Select a rail system for your curtains

Single-track curtain rails can hold one set of curtains. Lighter curtains are perfect for decorative purposes and still allow the light in, while thicker ones darken the room and dampen noise.

Combine curtains and drapes with three-track curtain rails. Here is how you can optimally adjust the light: Several layers of curtains provide privacy, filter or keep out light, dampen outside noise and have a heat-insulating effect.

Using this corner connector, single-track curtain rails can be connected with the enclosed connecting piece and routed around corners.

In addition, corners can be attached to both ends of the curtain rail to reduce the light coming in from the side.

3. Seamless curtain transitions

Gliders with hooks can be integrated into the pleated tape and curtain rail. This allows for easy opening and closing as well as decorating of curtains.

You need the sliding curtain holder to ensure a nice finish when you insert your sliding curtains into the track.

Use a BETYDLIG curtain rod  to layer multiple curtains. Combine any types of curtains you want – sliding panels or drapes, the choice is yours.
