What is the IKEA refund card and how does it work?

Refund cards cannot be purchased and are only provided by IKEA Customer service as alternative to a refund or for payment of second-hand products.

a. Purchase and use:
Refund cards cannot be purchased. They are provided by Customer service as alternative to a refund or for payment of second-hand products.
You can use them in Switzerland online or in our stores, as well as in our Plan and Order Points. Check out our Terms & Conditions for the comprehensive list of all countries where the IKEA refund card is accepted.
While ordering online, after having selected your delivery or pick-up method, you can enter your refund card and its letter code by clicking on "add an IKEA gift/refund card".
b. Validity:
Refund cards have a validity of 10 years if no expiration date is written on the card.
c. Credit:
The balance of your card will be automatically updated 4 hours after payment.

d. Problems with an IKEA refund card:
IKEA refund cards are not personalized and for this reason we treat them as cash.
  • Refund card lost or stolen
    If you've lost your IKEA refund card, or someone else has used it without your permission, unfortunately we can't block or replace the card.
  • Refund card damaged
    As long as your gift card number and PIN code are still readable, it can be used online and in the stores. If this is not the case, sadly we can't determine nor redeem the amount.
