Poor quality control - motion detection stuck 'on'Anonymous reviewerThe device I received does not work as intended. A common issue with this motion sensor is that it is stuck in the 'motion detected' state and will not disengage. Some have claimed this is due to the type of batteries used, but I've tried with both Ikea brand and Duracell and neither fixed the problem. Until someone definitively solves this issue, don't buy this product.1
Works with conbeeShuweiWorks with conbee. From homeassistant you can get motion boolean and the light value by lux. Also good it takes aaa batteries which you can buy rechargeable.
Only down side is it’s a bit bulky5
Work well, but could be betterRussellI don't love the look of the VALLHORN, but they work well for my purposes. I'm using them with LADDA batteries, as I 've read that they don't work well with regular alkalines due to the higher voltage.
I set them up using Zigbee2mqtt instead of the DIRIGERA hub, and have had no problems.4
I can pair, but lights always onAnonymous reviewerI purchased two of these as I thought my first was defective, and I used IKEA 1.2v batteries. I can pair the unit with my TRÅDFRI driver/ power supply (lights pulse) but after they just stay on. Called support, they don’t know anything about the smart home products, just read the instructions to me. I’m a missing something? Or both sensors where faulty?1
Works greatAndreaI have it connected with wireless control outlet. So far so good. 5
Not workingIsabelleI use the sensor with IKEA batteries, as advised, set it up properly etc… It works once or twice, but then leaves me in the dark. Then I reset it, reconfigure it, and the same happens again. This new Vallhorn sensor just doesn’t work. I also have the old sensor (Tradfri) and it works very well. IKEA : why change something that works for something that doesn’t? You make great products, but not this one, unless the early lots are defective (?)1
Works perfectlyDanialI bought two of these sensors and they work perfectly in my ZigBee network in home assistant. I've been running automations using these for more than a month now and they have been consistently reliable.5
Lots of false-positivesDanielCan't recommend until there is a software fix implemented that only triggers after two consecutive activations.1
Must buy IKEA batteriesAlexisIt seems to work well, has nice settings but it MUST be used with IKEA batteries as these are 1.2v vs a normal AAA battery that is 1.5v. You get false positives if not using IKEA batteries.2
