Sanely blue velvet curtaunCliffordLove it.. decent quality at a fraction of the prices elsewhere. Makes my bedroom so much more cozy.5
So softJaclynBeautiful curtains. Love the velvet-like material.5
love the vibeAnikaI will compare these to the Majgull blackout for reference. These blinds are light filtering, and lights up your space pink which is sooo lovely and relaxing but once summer hits I will need blackout blinds as well or a blackout curtain for under. These are some type of velvet and not optimal for tying knots in, I do this with the majgull and with sheer ones but these wrinkle and dont look good after, also harder to tie. they give such a good look, very romantic, I really like with my white sheer one. took one star off for price point, more expensive then majgull but do less. I wonder what Majgull in pink would be like.4
This is a good onePrabhleenThis is a good one , got it for my daughter’s room’s perfect3
Lovely curtains. The fabric isHélèneLovely curtains. The fabric is luxurious and blocks a lot of light (not totally opaque) I’d say it blocks about 85% of light. I wish it wouldbe a lighter pink though for my decor.5
Perfect for our Home Theatre roomHELENGreat sound barrier curtains. Love the material and the classy look. I have purchased velvet curtains from Ikea 20 years ago, they were a bit heavier, but these are slightly cheaper than the ones 20 years ago.5
The curtains were exactly whatMeredithThe curtains were exactly what I was looking for. I just love them. The colour was bang on - it’s hard to get pink right so it’s not too pink…5
These are perfect for myMARYThese are perfect for my bedroom, which is bright. They are definitely room darkening, fall nicely and look lovely with an IKEA sheer for daytime. Definitely easy to install and are an excellent buy. I shopped around, and as usual found just the right price and quality at IKEA.5
Beautiful and elegantDARLENEThese curtains have the look of luxury. They drape beautifully and maintain the pleat when open. The pink is like a ballet pink. When closed they give a glow to the room (if it is sunny).5
Great alternative to the blackoutNikitaGreat alternative to the blackout curtains if you are looking for something natural rather than polyester.5
Great curtain, however the holdersALLANGreat curtain, however the holders or tabs on the top part of the curtain that hold the rod in place are made up of strands of thread. Overtime of sliding the curtain in and out, this will wear out the thread. Solution would be to use a sturdy or sold material.4
Great Curtains!JennThese are great for making our bedroom that gets a lot of light in the morning darker. My husband requested these for the ability to sleep in a bit after longer days at work and they do the trick! Nice material as well.4

Room darkening not blackoutjackie m.The dark blue colour was very nice however I didn't like the quality or look of the curtain fabric. I found it looked cheap and not modern. I'll stick to the Ritva1

Bought one set, and realizedMichelleBought one set, and realized I need to go back and get another!!!! Beautiful is all I can summarize. The blue velvet style changed the whole feel of the room from "something is missing/blah" to "comfortable and, interesting" while still maintaining a more "traditional" style throughout the house.5

Our take on cotton

We use cotton in many of our products, from sofas and cushions to bed linen and mattresses. It is a soft, durable and renewable fibre that breathes and is good at absorbing moisture. All these great qualities make cotton one of our most important materials, but it isn’t without its challenges, much having to do with conventional farming methods that negatively impact the environment and poor working conditions for farmers. With our size and production volumes, we want to drive change in the cotton industry. By only using recycled cotton or cotton from more sustainable sources, working with partnerships and initiatives on the ground and prioritising compliance, we believe that we can make a positive impact in the world of cotton.

100% cotton from more sustainable sources

Since 2015, all cotton in IKEA products is either recycled or comes from more sustainable sources*. This means that we only source cotton grown using sustainable farming practices that reduce the use of fertilizers, pesticides and water, improve working conditions and earnings for farmers, and benefit ecosystem health and biodiversity conservation. We have set up a system that enables use to trace all our cotton and ensure that the final product is from approved, certified sources. *Cotton from more sustainable sources commits to the following schemes: Better Cotton (as defined by BCI, including their equivalence in various geographies), cotton from farmers working towards the BCI standard (TBC).

Working together to drive change

Each year, IKEA uses around 0.5 percent of all cotton grown around the world. This may not seem like a lot, but the number is big enough to drive change in the industry. For many years, we have been working with partners and stakeholders globally to transform conventional large-scale cotton farming and set social and environmental standards for cotton production. As an example, we helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) who runs the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. BCI exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the sector’s future. Today, more than 110,000 farmers have adopted more sustainable farming practices within IKEA projects.

Ensuring compliance throughout the value chain

All IKEA products are produced in accordance with the IKEA IWAY Standard, our Supplier Code of Conduct. It sets out the minimum environmental and social standards expected from our suppliers, including compliance with local laws. We do not accept any form of forced labour, child labour or treatments in breach of our supply chain requirements. Our cotton teams across the globe ensure that all cotton used in IKEA products meets the demands of compliance in our supply chain. By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been challenging to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve the industry. If we discover that we are acting in places where we cannot ensure our requirements are being met, we follow-up on the ground and drive change.

What is cotton?

Cotton is one of the world's most appreciated and used natural fibres. Textiles in cotton are soft, hardwearing and can be washed at high temperatures. They are also good at breathing and absorbing moisture – making them pleasant to wear close to the body. Today at IKEA we use more and more recycled cotton and strive to make sure that all the new cotton we use has been grown and produced with less and less amounts of pesticides, fertilizers and water.
