The ROTHULT lock is compatible with the cabinets and drawers from the IDÅSEN and BEKANT series.

    If the batteries are running low, you will hear five quick beeps when operating the lock. The beep continues to warn you every 30 minutes until the lock enters sleep mode.

Can't get locked drawer to unlockMichelleI guess my batteries in the lock died? I'm not in the office everyday and I guess I missed its warning noise or something... Either way the master cards worked 50% of the time, and one lock didn't release the lock when the batteries died so now I have a locked drawer with things I need that I can't access. Doing need to take this cabinet apart to reopen it?1
A very bad toy gadget that wants to identify as being both 'smart' and a 'lock' but is neitherPaulThe card reading sensor seems to have limited power and range, it does not work through metal surfaces (yet IKEA Marketing does imply it does by showing it installed in a metal cabinet) and it also struggles through wood (and wood deritivaties too). Anything with an RFID chip can activate it (once take into account its poor chip reading capabilities). With no way to secure the device from undesirable RFID cards or chips the device is less of a lock and more of a toy. The lock also likes to beep when it can't quite read the chip in the cards (which is insanely often). If it integrated with IKEA's smart products you could have at least used the APP to control it but you can't, its a rather dumb smart product.1
UnreliableDavidSometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. Reading the reviews, it's not meant for the metal cabinets which is misleading as it does say it pairs off with them.1
Be aware - does NOT work in metalThiagoThought I was going crazy, because i saw the pictures os advertisement installing this lock in metal and when I went to install in my ikea metal cubes it just didnt work.. Guess I should read the reviews before wasting my precious time and money…1

Doesn't work as advertisedMicheleI bought this to use with the Hällan. The images describing this product show it with a similar metal locker. However, this product does not seem to work with metal doors.1
Smart Lock, WhiteAnonymous reviewerBuyers BEWARE!! This is very misleading. The product does NOT work on all metal cabinets!!! It will work through wood and veneer. The picture clearly shows it attached to a metal Locker cabinet, that particular product (IDASEN High cabinet) has mounting provisions and a cutout for the lock sensor. The product description really needs a proper description and/or compatibility list!! I’m not about to drive the 2 hours and wait in line for another 2 for the return of a$20 part. Hope this helps future buyers!1
ROTHULSmart lock with KALLAX shelf unit and InsertAnonymousI bought the ROTHULT to test using it with the KALLAX Shelf unit & Insert with door. The reader works well to read through the door with no issues. I am able to lock some of the inserts for safe keeping items. The downside this is no mounting template so there was lots of measuring to make it fit, but worked out.5

Electronic LockJudyI bought two and so far I am happy, although installation is tricky as there is no measurements to indicate placement for installation. You have to work that out by trial and error so I ended up with two extra holes in cabinet door.4
Does not work through metalAnonymousWhile this is a great idea it would have been helpful to know that this lock does not work through metal despite the image on the website showing the lock on a metal door. That image is from a door with a hole cut out of it.2
