I would not recommend this product for anyone!BenitaI had no problem setting up other sensor to the hub. Do not understand why it was huge challenge to link to hub. After dozens of attempt, finally it's linked. (FYI I used same battery for other sensors and have no problem. This item I had to change to many different battery before it would sync.) After securing it to the door, my device keeps reading the door continuously open and closed. And the red light continuously blinking. Now I cannot exchange or return because it's stuck strong to my door and frame. I do not recommend this product to anyone. Waste of time and money. Huge disappointment.1
Don’t expect it to work flawlessly with Home AssistantMatthewI’ve purchased a bunch of these for doors and windows around my house and paired them to a Sonoff Zigbee controller. They pair flawlessly and are very responsive… for a few weeks—then the batteries die. Check reddit and you’ll see people complaining about poor battery life. A Youtuber opened one of them up an discovered that there seems to be some kind of hardware issue with the devices that can’t be corrected with a firmware update. I will say that I have no idea if they have the same problem when paired to IKEA’s official hub. I wish I could return these but I don’t even know if they fall within Ikea’s 1 year warranty—plus I’ve thrown out the boxes and they’ve been used. An expensive lesson. No issues with the leak sensors though! Those work great.1
Great Value Smart Home SensorIanHard to beat especially for the price.
Takes a standard AAA battery which is great compared to others that take very expensive lithium batteries that can cost nearly as much as this sensor. The only downside to that is it makes the sensor larger and more obvious.
Love how the app can send you an notification that door/window has been left open. The only unknown is the longevity of the product and how long the batteries last. At this point it seems to be performing well.5
Not reliableAlexanderYes, it connects and works fine with Home Assistant, but it drains batteries like crazy. The biggest problem is that it doesn't report the battery level properly, so from time to time, you encounter a situation where the sensor simply stops working (even though the red LED is still glowing as if everything is okay).1
They work with Smartthings! Very reliable EllieVery reliable sensors. You may need a custom edge driver for it (see smartthings community forum for details) but so far so good! Very happy and they have been more reliable than other aqara similar sensors5
Great Door/Window sensorAlessandroIf I was starting in home automation today these are the only sensors that I would use. Good price. Long battery due to it taking 1 triple AAA. Easy to pair. Works with Smartthings.5
Wonderful little IoT deviceXinyunWell built, reliable, compact and cost effective security IoT device.5
Works great with Home AssistantDanialThis is a reliable and affordable contact sensor. I'm using it in my home assistant with zha and works flawlessly.5
Great contact sensorsRussellThe PARASOLL sensors are super versatile, thanks to the long and slim design. This makes it easy to mount them in a variety of ways to suit your door/window. I fit them onto a casement window that wouldn't work with other contact sensors I tried.
I'm using the PARASOLLs with Zigbee2mqtt instead of the DIRIGERA hub, and they work great. They've proven to be very reliable.5
Finally a AA battery powered sensorZhengyuIt’s such a cute design. Bit larger than a typicle door sensor, but the built in indicator lighting is such a good addition, I’ve identified a defective battery right away when I saw it’s disconnected and no indicator change when I open or close the door. Works perfectly with Apple HomeKit. Can be used with regular non rechargeable batteries. I’ve bought a bunch of them for future needs, considering it’s such an affordable price. 5
