A family favorite JoanneA door wherever you want in your Kallax.
Using the insert but without the doors.JeffBought 6 of these. Doors and hinges restrict vinyl records so only using the enclosures. Going to reinforce my Kallax cabinets in the back so probably won’t even use the inserts.
Shoddy workJulietteThe instructions for this are confusing (they imply the dark side - which matches the Kalax itself - should face in, making it look unfinished once you open the door). And it doesn't fit properly - using the provided measuring tool, it has you screw in the cube too far back leaving a 3mm gap at the back. The door is also not wide enough. Expected better of Ikea.
Small design flaw GillianI’ve installed four of these and I like them. But if you’re planning to install them side-by-side opening in opposite directions, you can’t do it with the provided screws. You will need shorter ones so that they don’t interfere with each other. I happened to have the perfect screws so it worked out fine
Kallax Door UnitsBrendaI have 4 of these door units. They are easy to put together - hardest part is hinges, but google how to adjust them and then it’s pretty easy. They look great, I’m very happy with them.
Look great KimberleyI like the doors better than the other options.
Door for Kallax shelf cubeStacyLove the look. Was easy to add to the shelf. Looks like it was meant to have doors
Kallax insertsKimThese are great - easy to install - Look very nice in cabinet
Great product JaniceValue for money, excellent storage solution
Brilliant insert, well done ikea!LouiseI didnt know these even existed until i went into the store, but what a fabulous idea! Easy to install and instantly elevates to look of your Kallax unit.
Feels wrong. Pretty thoughSanazI love how it looks in my room, but finding out I had to screw these in and will not be able to easily rearrange them in the future was not a happy surprise. It almost feels like this product detracted value from my shelf, but you can still use other inserts with sidewalls to cover the holes.
The assembly was tricky but not impossible, and the material for the siding is not impressive. I can't get the side opposite of the hinges to lie flat, the top and bottom warp outwards... Honestly, the side looks bad when the door is open.
Nice LynnLooks great
DoorTimothyInstall a bit awkward and adjust was strange to close properly . Looks good though
FlimsyKukExpecting something more substantial that could improve the shelf rigidity. Decide well which opening u wish to pull it. Once u put it in, there is no going back. It require screwing into the shelf that would leave a few ugly holes if u should change your mind.
Very handy!ÅnnaPurchased four of these for my kallax unit so far and am planning on getting four more. A bit finicky to install, especially with only two hands; it's difficult to get everything lined up properly, so I have one wonky door which I don't mind. I love the look of the oak and it makes the unit feel overall cleaner and more organised.
Great Cupboard DoorTracyWorks great in my Kalax shelf unit to keep my stuff organized and out of sight. Fairly easy to follow instructions.
Kallax shelving unit with door insertsAnneLooks great. Tricky to get the doors adjusted evenly.
Hard to install but looks greatErinThis was hard to install in the Kallax because there are no pre-drilled holes. But it's in now. Looks great and ups the wow factor on a generic bookshelf.
Awesome product , easy assembly!!DerekVery good quality for your money .
The inserts are challengingKarenThe Kallax shelving is very easy to assemble but the door inserts are a challenge. I can't get the screws to lodge into the wood frame and align properly. There should be another way to attach the doors without the thin board sidings.

Material
What is fibreboard?
Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
