Product details

You can simply make your everyday life easier and safer with VALLHORN wireless motion sensor that reacts to movement and turns your lighting on – both indoors and outdoors.

Powered by two rechargeable LADDA AAA batteries, which are easy to remove and charge and put back in again.

The design with a matte surface makes the motion sensor discreet and easy to place in different rooms in the home.

The motion sensor can be connected to 10 light sources at the same time, and they all work in unison.

You can choose to set the motion sensor to day or night mode and also set it to automatically turn off after 1 or 5 minutes.

By connecting this product to DIRIGERA hub, you get even more out of it and can also control it, together with other smart products, in the IKEA Home smart app.

Good to know

The motion sensor has a maximum range of 10 metres to the light source when not blocked by walls. For reaction to movement, the maximum range is 5 metres and a 120° angle.

False PostivesEvanSensor just goes off constantly. Tried using the Ikea batteries as recommended to see if it fixed it, which even being offered as a solution should have been a warning pointing to how bad they were. Made no difference in the end.1
Great sensorSuzanneReally easy to use, link and change. The sensor is working perfectly. We bought the hub device but woukd NOT recommend as it requires it to be wired to your router when it really should b wifi. Sensor works fine without it5

Only half workJamesA common problem across the internet is that these are very hit or miss. Often not 50% work, otherwise they are stuck on detected. I use the recommended IKEA 1.2V batteries, and all the correct settings. Had to return one, the other works fine. 1
Double size of old Tradfri PIR! But better for mounting.Anonymous reviewerIt's okay. Slanted angles on the back make it easier to mount at angles (compared to Tradfri PIR). Makes much easier to mount. BUT it is MUCH more visible and certainly **NOT** subtle addition to an entry or passage. Even adding to your living room to trigger any type of lighting, it's difficult to camouflage.... Works perfectly fine in Google Home or Alexa, but you cannot create a rule using other PIR sensors. Plus only Alexa gives you the last Time + Date the sensor was activated/triggered! ZERO log and ZERO history of triggering. If this is important for you, then look at SmartLife/Tuya Zigbee PIR sensors! 4
BetterGrahamAs a user of previous IKEA motion sensors, I was keen to try this new one. It’s better than the previous model. - less lag. Will probably never be as good as wired sensors but this is a real step forward. 4
Unreliable triggeringAlexNot very satisfied with this PIR sensor, it is slow to trigger and in its location it seems to also suffer from phantom activity. Not overly satisfied with the product, but hoping a firmware update will fix it2
Handy Sensor - Bit Large & SlowAnonymous reviewerChunky compared to my Hue sensor - there is a delay compared to my Hue sensor both using ZHA via a SMLight gateway. Price is right, easy enough to swap out batteries. Lux sensor is a nice-to-have, but having a temperature sensor (like the Hue models) would be another nice-to-have. Overall impressed.4
Good motion sensor.SidneyAn improvement over the previous Tradfri motion sensor in many ways, although it is significantly larger and a bit slower in my experience. Love that it now uses rechargeable batteries, and exposes a luminance reading through Matter in Home Assistant. 4
