This sensor keeps track of your windows and doors – helping you make life at home smoother and more comfortable.
When connected to a hub, the sensor sends a notification to your smartphone with information if a door or a window is opened.
You can combine the sensor with a smart lightbulb that turns on when you open a door and turns off when you close it – ideal for a walk-in closet.
Easy to place in different areas of the home since the parts can be mounted perpendicular to each other, opposite each other or side by side.

The product works...but...AnonymousThe battery is AAA which is great, no button batteries required. Seems to have long life, still on 100% after several days. However, the gap between the on and off switch is too small to be usable on my fridge door for instance. They need to be pretty close to each other to detect an open close event.

Australian ReviewKartikIKEA have shown the Smart Home industry how it's done. With all the overpriced sensors with finicky multi platform compatibility issues, we have IKEA to save the day. Amazing value. Now using Matter protocol, making it simpler to setup and is platform agnostic. Very fast response time and notification gets pushed within 1 second. Magnetic strip also works perpendicular to the unit which helps with install location. Tip: Install indoors as it will be less exposed to large temperature changes thus the battery will last longer especially in winter. IKEA, well done, I am looking forward to all the new Smart Home sensors you release in 2026.
Competiton has finally arrivedGeoffI just added the Myggbett Matter Sensor to my door through Homekit. Added first time with no complications. ( I have Apple 4KTV connected directly to my router).
I have used many brands of Sensor and this is the best at 25% of the price.
Uses standard AAA battery. Tick
is slim design and looks good over my door.
(Although long and skinny, i prefer it to the Aqara sensor, and much smaller than the Switchbot).
