This ergonomic office chair has lots of functions that allow you to easily adapt the chair to your body.

Height-adjustable seat allows you to adjust the height so that back and legs are at a 90° angle.

With automatic tilt tension, your body weight determines how much resistance the backrest offers. This counter-pressure helps you keep an active posture in your chair.

Synchronized tilt mechanism allows the chair to move with you. The backrest moves more than the seat when you lean back, so torso/hips open up. This improves circulation and keeps energy levels up.

As you recline, the synchronized tilt mechanism allows feet to stay on the floor while your gaze remains straight ahead. Your chest stretches without adding pressure on thighs, improving circulation.

Adjustable seat depth enables proper back support and even weight distribution across the seat cushion. This prevents circulation from being cut off at the knees and reduces knee pressure.

Backrest can be adjusted to provide support in all the right places and helping your body to maintain a naturally good posture.

Adjustable lumbar support helps maintain the correct posture while sitting which reduces strain on muscles on your lower back.

GRANN cover is made of grain leather which is a very high-quality leather. As it ages it becomes softer and develops a darker tone and fine patina.

The castors are designed to provide ease of movement and maneuverability on both carpeted and hard floors as well as on uneven surfaces.

Almost greatJohn L.The chair feels high quality, smoothly reclines, no creaks or noises. I have not had any problems with the back or seat sliding out of position, they are secure for me. It was simple to put together. The cushion is firm but comfortable. Wheels roll smoothly. However, almost a GREAT chair, aside from the nonsensical convex hump in the back cushion that's trying to be "lumbar support". I'm 5'10 and this hump juts into the small of my back, pushing me forward, so I can't fully sit into the chair which makes my back tired. The chair would be a billion times more comfortable if the back was concave to cradle the back, like, you know, how chairs used to be before ergonomics crazytown. I just want a minimal chair that cradles my back, not juts into it like a balled up towel. At the very least, the back should go up higher so the hump can actually fit into my lumbar. IKEA: Please reconsider the "lumbar hump" in this chair for your next iteration.3

Very disappointedJulia R.While this chair is stylish, it does not hold up to standard daily office use. After using this chair almost daily for 7 months, it has developed an extremely obnoxious loud squeaking sound (not fixable with WD40) every time you move the smallest amount. Additionally, one of the buttons on the seat popped off, out of nowhere. Of course, this happened about a week after the "return after opening" day count. This chair costs a lot of money for the quality [you don't] get. Very disappointed and don't think it's worth the price. Buyer beware.1

Great but FLAWEDRicardo R.I bought this chair about 3 years ago. I LOVED it, however it had one flaw from day one. The bolt that holds the back/lumbar support in place would loosen and the back would slide down. Over and over again, I would have to re-tighten it to hold it in place. An annoyance, but not a deal-killer. But then, just recently, the bolt's threads became stripped and now it won't even stay in the chair. For such an expensive chair, I would expect a better system to adjust the back. The rest is perfect.2

Finally jumped some hurdles to get one! Note on the backrest for other buyers.Caol B.I’ve been looking at this chair for about a year, finally seen it was in stock and went the extra length to procure one. Great chair, love the leather, easy assembly, definitely heavy (but adds to the sense of quality). One issue I noticed and read in the reviews is the backrest does wobble and the knob eventually loosens causing the backrest to slip down. This can be fixed, as the backrest mounting base (not mounting plate) can be easily disassembled. The mounting base has two plastic rails that hold the backrest mounting plate. By removing these rails and adding a thin layer of cardboard to fill the gap and fitting it back in snug, the wobble & knob loosening issues are fixed. I also cut a piece of wood pencil and fit it under the backrest knob for extra support. I love this chair, and I can't wait for it to patina and I never want to get out of it! Thanks Ikea!5

The challenge with ALEFJÄLL swivel chair was to combine retro style from the 1950s with the demands on function and comfort we have today. It is fully adjustable to your body, without looking technical, so it fits at home as well as in the office. I think chairs should look good from behind and I am particularly pleased with how the adjustable backrest integrates with the metal frame. ALEFJÄLL is comfortable, reliable and convivial – functional and stylish at the same time.
