Comfortable chair!MarikoExcept for one nut and bolt that had a tiny flaw, every part fit well. Hopefully that one bolt that didn’t quite fit into hole for where back and seat meets won’t be an issue. Too lazy to return and get a new one.
Good budget friendly chair. NtzakiI was eye balling this chair for some time before finally buying while it was on sale to replace a terrible and cheap chair I had. This chair was easy to assemble in about 15 min, is very comfortable for my needs and I really like that the chair doesn't roll away on it's own when you get up.
Assembly Hazard – Sharp Metal BurrsTanyaVery disappointed with the IKEA FLINTAN office chair. The seat came out of the box with stains. Assembly was much harder than expected because the screws did not fit properly and required excessive force and extra tools.
The worst part was a poorly finished metal component with sharp metal burrs. My husband cut his finger on it and a deep metal splinter became lodged in his finger. Now he has to go to urgent care or even the emergency room. This has caused pain, emotional distress, wasted time, and unexpected medical expenses.
Buying this chair to save money clearly was not worth it.

It’s okaySueThe fabric is disappointing and it took me a good 45 minutes to put it together. 1 screw on the back rest doesn’t fit into the slot. I am 5’1” tall and 125 lbs. I wouldn’t recommend this office chair if you are really petite. My back can just reach the back of the chair.
Love this chair!WendyThis chair was so east to put together, it took just a few minutes, it is perfect for my sewing room, moves easy, feels great and the cover will be easy to keep clean, as bottom cover is removable!

I wanted to like this chair. ReneeI tried it out at the store and it seemed great. Got mine home and assembled and the wheels won’t roll on vinyl?? So I ordered some replacement wheels online to find out the wheel stem is a proprietary size, so “universal” sized wheel stems are too big! Never had this problem with any other office chair. Very disappointing. Will probably return. No excuse for wheels that don’t roll.

Back only locks in straight positionMichaelThe back of the chair will only lock facing ram-rod straight. Most chairs, they lock at multiple angles. This basically means you either get no back support, or you have to sit up perfectly straight all the time.
I realize this is a cheaper chair, but this seems like a pretty basic feature.
Uncomfortable Chair, Even Worse Return ProcessAmitI purchased this computer chair after trying it in the store, where it felt comfortable and supportive. Unfortunately, once assembled at home, the backrest felt completely different—the springs are so stiff they push me forward, making it very uncomfortable to use.
Trying to return it has been even worse than the chair itself. IKEA charges a $45 pickup fee just to take the product back. To make that happen, I had to:
Spend nearly an hour on hold with customer service,
Then call their payment office separately to pay the fee,
Then call customer service again to actually schedule the pickup,
And finally, take time off to wait at home for them to arrive.
What should have been a simple return turned into a multi-step, time-consuming ordeal. The policy feels unreasonable, and the process is designed in the most inefficient way possible. For a company of IKEA’s size, it’s shocking that returning a single chair is harder than buying an entire kitchen.

Not adjustable at allAnonymousWhen you lean on the back of the chair, it bends back. Lean harder, it bends farther. If you want more support than that, too bad.
The seat has some thin foam that's not very comfortable.
The wheels don't turn. It's supposed to be a rolling chair, but I end up dragging it where I need it to be while the wheels stay stationary.
Overall just a low quality chair that I'm going to return.
Not a good chairEricI wanted to like the Flint chair. Ten minutes sitting in it and my back was killing me. The seat padding is very thin. If you buy this chair plan to use a pillow for padding. I found it to be incredibly uncomfortable to sit on and no adjustment will help.
I’ve built a lot of ikea furniture and it’s usually easy, but this chair was remarkably difficult to build. I’m surprised IKEA puts their name on this chair.
