I'm 6'4 230 lbs with a big torso. I wear a 44L suit jacket for reference. This chair just works. The back is tall enough for me. The seat is deep enough. It just fits my body.
Make sure you get the large size markus. And get some wheel upgrades from Amazon and you're in business baby.
Perfect Adjustments in New 'Large' MarkusJeffreyI had the old Markus, now called 'medium' size. It was solid, used for years, but I'm tall etc and it was a bit narrow for me, i.e. couldn't let my legs sit open as wide as they naturally would. Also, the lumbar support was a bit higher than ideal. And the seat a bit shorter than needed.
Happened to see Markus at the store with "New" on it, and looked and turns out they have a new "Large" size version. The second I sat down, I new it was better for me. So bought it try out (IKEA is no risk since you have a year to return.)
The changes in the 'large' compared to the 'medium' were just what I needed. Wider seat allows me to sit naturally without being squeezed to be narrower with my legs, the size of the cushion is perfect - long enough for my legs, good cushion, deep enough to sit - fits very well.
And they lowered the lumbar pad just to the right level.
I had looked at Herman Miller - so pricey and just ok. So glad I tried IKEA and found this "new" version of my old Markus
Like the Chair,JamesI really like the chair. It is very comfortable, just what I was looking for. I'm not really happy with the wheels. Can someone provide me with the barrel size on the caster so I might be able to change the them with rubber ones Thanks
