Optimal kitchen lighting in 4 steps

Lighting is an important aspect of any kitchen, both for its appearance and for safety. Lighting above the countertop makes cooking, cutting, mixing, stirring, blending, and other tasks safer, easier, and more enjoyable. For example, combine LED spotlights, LED strips, LED worktop lighting, and cabinet lighting to put every corner of your kitchen in the spotlight.

Step 1: Choose your lighting

  • Choose which lighting you want to place under your cabinets. Will you go for LED strips, LED spotlights, or LED worktop lighting?
  • Measure the width of your kitchen cabinets and the length of your chosen type of lighting.
  • Determine how many lights you need for your surface area. Many types of kitchen lighting are available in different lengths.

Step 2: Choose your driver

Do you want to easily dim, turn on, or turn off your kitchen lighting? Then choose a TRÅDFRI driver, a type of power source for your LED lighting. You can also connect drivers together to link all your kitchen lighting at once using the FÖRNIMMA connection cord.

Choose the driver that fits your lighting by adding up the wattages of your lamps. You can choose from a driver for up to 10 watts with 3 connections and a driver for up to 30 watts with 9 connections.

Note: Add up the total wattage of your lamps to ensure your driver does not overheat and your lighting works safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Step 3: Choose your connecting cables

To plug your TRÅDFRI driver into the socket, you need a FÖRNIMMA connection cable. Did you buy LED strips or LED worktop lighting in step 1? Then you also need a VÅGDAL connection cable. This way, you can easily link LED strips or LED worktop lighting together, and you won't need a separate connection cable for each lamp.

Step 4: Choose your remote control

Once you've connected a TRÅDFRI driver, the final step is to choose a remote control. We recommend the RODRET wireless dimmer. With this remote, you can control all the lighting in your kitchen with the press of a button. Cooking has never been this enjoyable!
