3 things to look out for when choosing a microwave
- Built‑in or freestanding
Start by deciding whether you want a built‑in microwave that blends seamlessly into your kitchen, or a freestanding model that you can place more flexibly. - Which functions do you need?
Do you only want to heat food, or also defrost, grill or even bake? Choose a microwave with functions that match your cooking habits. - The right size
Think about the space in your kitchen and what you want to put inside the microwave. A larger model is handy if you often use big dishes, while a compact model saves space.
What’s the difference between a microwave and a combi microwave?
Microwaves
Perfect for quickly heating or defrosting food and drinks. Some of our microwaves include a grill function—handy for preparing thin slices of meat or vegetables, or for giving your oven dish a crispy top.There are also models with a crisp function, ideal for baking things like cakes or tarts. You can place the microwave in a wall or tall cabinet.
Combi microwaves
A microwave and a fan oven in one. Ideal if you want maximum flexibility but don’t have space for two ovens. Perfect for small kitchens or compact living—while still giving you the joy of an extra oven!Use it as a microwave to heat or defrost, and as an oven to grill, bake or roast. You can place a combi microwave in a lower or tall cabinet.
Note: Most microwaves can be placed in a wall cabinet, but not all. Always check if it fits.
2. Functions and cooking modes (depending on the model)
Which functions do you need? We have different models with different features. Our simple microwaves are great for heating meals or warming baby bottles.Our more advanced models include a grill function for preparing pizzas or giving dishes a golden top.Are you a real home chef? Then a combi microwave is the perfect choice—use it as a full oven too.
