Ideas for a Better Night's Sleep in a Shared Kids' Bedroom

Sharing a bedroom becomes easier if you give both children space for privacy and they can decorate their own room. This way your children have their own corner, but they also experience the benefits of sharing, namely the bond you build with each other and the safe feeling you have together.

Divide the sleeping area and make it dark

Roller blinds keep out daylight, making it easier for your children to fall asleep and stay asleep. By placing a room divider between the beds, you give both children privacy and they can fall asleep and wake up at different times without disturbing each other.

Space for two

If there is not much space, go vertical! A loft bed or bunk bed is your best friend. Not only is it very cool for the older brother or sister to sleep in, you can also place a second bed under the loft bed. Add a curtain on the ceiling or a bed tent, so each child has more privacy.

Night light with motion sensor

The night becomes more pleasant with a night light that makes your children feel safer. Of course, this light does not have to burn all night. That is why it is equipped with a wireless motion sensor, so that it automatically turns on when the children move.

A rug to quietly reach the bathroom

By placing a soft rug on the floor, your child can walk to the bathroom silently at night without accidentally waking the other. A rug also muffles the sound in the room during the day, so that you hear play sounds less loudly.
